Re: Air compressors?
I have the same compressor in black, and love it. No issues, I had a relay burn up a few weeks after I got it, and they replaced it quickly and were very helpful. I want a second one, just for when Im at shows or in a parade and want to really play with my switches. I had 2 Viair 380s before, and this one compressor is much faster then both of them. Viair makes a great produckt, but I am really happy with my Air-Zenith.

Re: Air compressors?
God NO! Viair 100% Great product... I had nothing but issues with Air Zenith.. While I was with a previous employer we where a dealer and had a HUGE failure rate I had 4 personally go bad before I removed and put my 4 year old viars back on! I will never slam any one but god I had a customer service night mare replacing those things not to mention the ones on my personal ride

Re: Air compressors?
If you're looking for a great price and a high CFM rate the viair 400 dual pack is a killer deal also for a little bit more of the price on a single AZ I can get you a Viair dual pack .

takes a bit of effort to install one, but once its there, its all the air you want, plus some. you can actually run air tools off the sucker if you want.. and if you pull one used and mod it yourself, you can have it on your truck for under $100. |

Re: Air compressors?
Just to throw this in the mix- I got 2 of these from Harbor freight:
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt...sor-66399.html But I paid $50.00 each with a coupon I had- but I paid extra for 2 year warrenty. They work great! Good thing for me is if/when I have any problem with them I can drive 2.5 miles from my house and get a new one. If I ordered one and had problems, then Im stuck waiting on shipping..... I had orginally got one compressor just as a temporary fix to keep my airbags aired up during my build. I was planning on getting 2 Vairs after I got finished with everything. After I seen how well the one worked I went and got another one. Just throwing out ideas if someone is on a budjet and needs a compressor(s). |

Re: Air compressors?
remember engine driven compressors require more maintenance than most expect. running a water/ oil seperator is a must.

Re: Air compressors?
^^ haha, thats cool. i always wondered if those would work. you got some video of those in action?
the air zenith looks cool, i love that white color. i have a airlift 450 (same as viair 450) in mine but i havent hit the road. fill time on a 5 gallon tank sucks so im getting one more 5 gallon and picking up a york. i will keep the electric as a backup though just in case something fails (motor blows, busted belt, etc..)

Re: Air compressors?
What's a good single compressor for a 5 gallon tank? I'd rather run one compressor instead of two. Does Viair make a good single compressor? I always see guys running the dual packs is why I ask.

sure, even the smallest one will fill it, but it takes FOREVER... there are some massive compressors that are basically engine driven compressors being run by a starter motor, but they drain your battery so fast, you cant even fill a empty tank unless you either have two batterys or the engine is going... and if the engine has to run anyway, why not run a EDC? |

Re: Air compressors?
Jason ... look up way2lo2 on here he has great deals on viair compressors ... he has the 400's and 480's in twin packs... Thats where I got mine.. I'm running 2 480's and 2 - 3 gallon tanks with a 200 psi switch and its the prefect set up for what I use them for. I can lift the truck three times b4 the compressors kick on. We have also used a ton of the viair's over the years without and issues. I have used the az's before so I couldn't tell you how they work.

Re: Air compressors?
I've been happy with my single viair 480 with a 5 gal tank. I've had it for a year now with no issues.

Re: Air compressors?
they replaced mine but after the 4th time being stranded, waiting for a friend to bring and extra Compressor out to where I was, and being a dealer with what I would say at least a 60% failure rate ( which I'm looking for the pic of the piles we had at my old employer) while I sold them you will need that warranty....
