Help with ls1 headers

I have almost completed my 6.0 swap in a 71 c10 now it time to run exhaust and i noticed that my stock maniflolds will not clear and I have no 02 sensors. after buying $120 each o2 sensors now its time to get a set of longtubes… my buddy has a set of corvette longtubes and i would like to know if they would fit since they began to angle in towards the transmission I was wondering if this would be a clearance issue. thanks

Re: Help with ls1 headers

No idea on corvette headers, but a lot of people are running Doug Thorley conversion headers, including me. I like them and would recommend them to anyone. Good luck however you go with yours.

I get nothing from this endorsement by the way.

Re: Help with ls1 headers

I have a set of the Doug Thorleys on my storage racks and have seen them installed on other trucks. It is a good setup for these trucks and the Gen III motors.

Re: Help with ls1 headers

I have to agree about the Doug Thorley's. All of my research led me back to them for the price... I paid $460 delivered. Fit perfect. One less headache.

It's hard to beat the Thorleys, great price and an even better fit.

Re: Help with ls1 headers

By how much will the stock manifolds not clear? You could do a little triming on the frame and go back and box it up to make even stronger than it was. That what I did on my 7.4l Vortec. I had to trim about 1/2" on both sides of the frame but boxed it up with some 3/16" metal. You can alway add some headers down the road after everything is done...
