Need Help Cutting C-notch on 59

I need help cutting the c-notch. I am not sure what anlge to cut the 2x6 tubing at. I was told to cut it at 35* but when I went to put the pieces together nothing came out right. A friend of mine then cut some for me and all the angles came out correct. I measured the angle and it was at 55* thou. Where did I mess up? I need to know where to set my chop saw at (harbor frieght style) for the correct angle I am looking for? My chop saw goes from 0-45*. I was messing with some cardboard and got the correct angle I was looking for but it was a 60* angle. How do I set that On my chop saw?

Not sure if it's possible from the image in my head, but what about setting it for 30° & inverting the cuts?

The 35* and 55* are correct. It just depends upon which side of the 90* you are measuring from. If you notice that the 35 and 55 add up to 90, so they are called "complimentary". If you are cutting 35* on your saw, and it is the wrong half of the complimentary, you have to "work around" it because your saw will not cut at that angle.
The simplest "trick" is to make yourself a 90* "auxillary fence".
Cut 2 pieces of angle iron (or square stock) at a 45* and weld them into a 90*, like a framing square. Grind the welds flush and smooth. Now you can clamp this "fence" to the back fence of your saw. This will give you a fence that is parallel to the blade and not square to it. At this point when you turn the blade to 35*, you get a cut that is actually 55*

Just incase anyone was following this thread the harbor freight chopsaw cuts the angle at the complimentary angle. I wanted to cut an angle of 60*, so I set my chopsaw at 30* on the chopsaw. Maybe this will help someone out.
