Headlights Shorting Out
Ok for some reason all of a sudden my headlights are flickering badly. This is whats been done so far
New Headlight switch New dimmer Switch The truck never had this problem until after I got it back from the paint shop. Could they have done something to the wiring while having the interior out? Anyone else ran across this problem? i also installed the Midnight Moose Conversion kit but not sure if thats the problem becasue I hooked a regular sealed light up and it still doing it. |

Just a question - aren't the headlight switch & the dimmer switch the same thing??? Hope I'm not missing anything here, it has been a long day........... I have the same problem with my left turn signal - rewired it 2 times and it still does it! When stuff get moved around, WIRES GET PULLED. Go through all the wires from the switch to the lights wiggling them and (preferably) checking them with a multimeter.

I have an 83 diesel suburban...it does it too.....except it goes beyond the headlights, gauges act weird and if you depress the e-brake the whole shebang just brightens right up and works like it is supposed too...release the ebrake and its back to dim and flickery....happens when I hit bumps while driving too, so I feel your pain man, anyone have ideas for us?

Update
Well here is what happened. I took the conversion kit out and put the regular low wattge sealed beams back in and have had no problems (other than the lighting being allot dimmer than the conversion). So since I now know that I need to get a Headlight Relay kit can anyone point me in the right direction to locate one? I have the 4 headlight setup.
Thanks |

Razorback,
You can get a headlight relay kit from any store that sells fog lights. My local Autozone has them. They are for fog lights but will work with headlights too. Baja was the brand name of the one I got there and it was a nice complete kit for cheap. |
