1962 gmc
I am looking to install a small block chevy motor like a 327 or a 350 into my 62 gmc ... It originally had the big block v6 and a 4 speed floor shifter in it.. My ? is what or how do i install the 350 chevy with a automatic tranny...like motor mounts and tranny mounts?

Re: 1962 gmc
Hey guys, that round part on the frame is for the original 3-speed linkage. There is a sort of bell crank that attaches to it between the column and the tranny. It's dark out right now but if you like, I will take a picture tomorrow since I still have the M-318.

Re: 1962 gmc
Is the front suspension still stock? Basically you'll need to bolt in some motor mount brackets for the V8 and you'll have to fabricate a transmission crossmember. You'll also have to remove the original bellhousing crossmember.
Since you're close by, I can actually show you what you need to do. I probably have most of the parts to make it happen. Send me a PM if you're interested. Quote:
