Dash Light Issue
Hey 1985 Chevy C10, 2wd, 305 TH350, ne way
The light behind the right hand part of my fuel gauge/the ashtray light arent working, they have in the past and they would come on sometimes while I was driving, so I know both bulbs are good. Where is the wire that could make them not work, or fuse or something? Thankyou And if your wondering, yes I just made two threads, cause I hate listing like 8 problems in 1. -Adam |

Re: Dash Light Issue
The bulb is in a socket on the back side of the dash and makes contact with a printed circuit attached to the back of the cluster assembly.
The particular location that['s giving you problems has a plastic "FIBER OPTIC" lead that runs down to the ashtray area. You can remove the socket from the back of the cluster and tweak the contacts on it to get a better connection. Also take a pencil with a good eraser and carefully clean the contact area on the printed circuit to help ensure a good connection.

Re: Dash Light Issue
i used a very fine sand paper
there are little bumps on the plastic to hold the socket to make the connection you may wana check the actual bulb base wires too (that they wrap around the base) i used a meter checking each bulb and in the socket and on the circut board when installed
