HELP - Havin a heck of time finding wheels I like AND fit (20"+)
So my truck is a 67. I have Porterbuilt Dropmember and Accuair air ride. I plan on running a 20" in front and a 22" in the rear. Talking to Nate, he suggested a 20x8.5" w/5.25 BS and a 22x10" w/5.5 BS. Then due to the front rotor hub size, Im having a heck of a time finding wheels that FIT and I LIKE that dont cost an arm and a leg. I've found a couple that are ok but when your droppin that kind of money, OK just isnt good enough. How about posting some pics of your 20-22"s....I'd prefer to stay with a 6 lug but I have the 5 lug axles in the box, so either will do!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!! |

Not sure but i think if you want to tuck the rears you will have to narrow the rear end with a 10" rim.

Re: HELP - Havin a heck of time finding wheels I like AND fit (20"+)
Not to highjack the thread or anything but I'm running 22x9 Centerline Smoothies with a 5.5 backspace, should I go with a 67 rear end also or will it tuck on the 72 rear I have now?

22X10 with 5.5 b.s. will work with the 67 & 68 rear. That's the same specs on the rear wheels that "old aux" is running.

Re: HELP - Havin a heck of time finding wheels I like AND fit (20"+)
What kind of look are you wanting? A smoother look to go with the look of your truck or something more agressive/modern?
Have you considered smoothies with an added center cap to have a modern smooth flair to an "old school" look?

Have you considered the Showwheels Streeters or the Iroc wheel clones. They are the 2 that I am looking at right now and they are cheap.

Re: HELP - Havin a heck of time finding wheels I like AND fit (20"+)
Wheels can set the entire attitude of your truck. Billets usually cost more, but you get more of a custom fit. Centerlines are the most reasonable if you are going with billets, and they do have more options than Smoothies, although you do see alot of those. You can go with chrome wheels if you want to save a little cash, but you will have less fittiment options, so be sure to measure, measure, measure before you buy.
Good luck with your search, Im sure you will find something you will just have to have to make your ride complete. |

Re: HELP - Havin a heck of time finding wheels I like AND fit (20"+)
Wanna loan me a couple grand? lol
Actually they look awesome, and are a GREAT price. Someone should pick them up if they had the cash. I would, but they are just not in the cards for me right now, and I want a 20/22 combo on mine. One day though. Now back to our regulary scheduled program.... Any luck on the search? What kind of a look are you wanting for your truck? More of a resto rod? A modern look? Or maybe you want to keep it looking oldschool? |
