speaking of patine - here's THREE pretty nice shortfleet big window trucks on ebay...

No, not mine or anyone I know. (apparently that is a required comment!)

With the great faux tina thread, I noticed these 3 trucks on ebay.

The 60 is SWEEEEEET in my book. Shortfleet, big window, etc. GREAT patina, etc - but pricey for the starting bid in my mind, who knows what the reserve is. But if it is what you are looking for, well.... Might be just the ticket - personally, I REALLY like this truck, and if I had cash just layin around, well, I wouldn't be telling you all about it right now, now would I? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1960-...item19c3199ff3

The black 65 shortfleet big window is pretty nice - unknown what the reserve is though. Kinda rusty, but if the price isn't too high, might be a great start. I don't always see "rust" as "patina", but.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-...item19c335e857

The Blue/White 66 seems like a great great deal to me - decent body, some primer, big window shortfleet. If I didn't already have mine - I'd jump on this one as the most bang for the buck that I've seen lately. $5500 is the buy it now, it may go for less in the bidding process, who knows.

Enjoy!

EDIT: ok, ok, "patine" is French for patina, before the wisecracks start rollin in....

Re: speaking of patine - here's THREE pretty nice shortfleet big window trucks on eba

I like the blue/white one but I'm a cheap bastard. I guess $5500 isn't a bad price if it runs perfect, but my truck was only $1100 and I drove it home and have driven it for the last 3 months to work daily.

I guess I just have a hard time paying more than $1500 for something I am looking to work on.

1966 Chevrolet BIG BLOCK...
Damn it! Everytime I think I know what color I am going to paint my truck I see a red or an orange truck like this and start flip-flopping again!

The short beds, step or fleet, just look awesome in red or orange with the two tone white!

Ahhhh that '60 is my favorite! Ever since I saw Delmo's "'ol blue balls" truck, I fell in love with that trim! I have yet to see one in person but I love it. 7k.. ehhh a little much though

jimmydean, i'd say you got a pretty darn good deal then!! And good on ya, I'm kinda jealous! I think our trucks are getting more and more expensive, especially the shortfleets with big windows, for some reason (and unfortunately because that's what I like!) But I think that, more than anything, is what is driving the prices of these ebay trucks. From when I was shopping around in MD, $5500 for a pretty good condition truck was a good deal. Now I'm back in CA, so will be keeping eyes peeled in the desert as I wander around the mojave.

When I was looking for mine, I was torn between a '67 LWB (I miss my '69) and a hand full of 63-66's. I ended up getting the C20 because it was th best base to start with (untouched) and had the straightest body.

Here's a '65 for $2700 OBO
http://portland.craigslist.org/nco/cto/2210683712.html

Here's a damn nice '64 short step for $6800 OBO
http://portland.craigslist.org/nco/cto/2211099940.html

Now that might be worth $6800 if I was looking for something to drive. I'm sure you can find a lot of rust free rigs hidden in a field in Cali for a whole lot less.
