1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
Hi my dad and i are new members to this forum, having dumped our '83 z28 camaro project, in favor of a '67 c10 that we found on craigslist. Now we live in the rust belt (iowa to be exact) and i dont know how you guys will feel about this truck but to us its a jewel...especially since we only paid $800 for it. This truck was owned by a farmer and judging by the condition its in, it was his go to town truck because it never towed or hauled anything but the occasional odds and ends. It has the original 250 I6 that came with the truck and a 3 on the tree. Now for what we are gonna swap in...a fully built 468 BBC and eventually a 4 speed muncie. The motor is tipping the scales at 525 hp and if anybody has any suggestions for beefing up the suspension etc feel free to give advice lol. And heres the link to the 468 on an engine stand that my dad built himself

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
what my pics? the cst horn cpa and the buddy buckets are the best additions to even the lowest optioned 67 68 truck beautiful parts! my next suggestion would be a 283 or 327 with a 4 bbl

Wow, gorgeous truck! Loads of perfect patina, too bad the bumpers bent..Maybe find another 'patina'd bumper'

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
my golden rule with a patina truck is repaint all the white and black but the other colors leave them alone, for instance the inner fenders, black repaint the bumpers white repaint them

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
I was just talking to my dad and he said he wants to stick with the original plan...to restore the truck to like new condition instead of going the patina route

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
are you going to leave it mostly stock? such as the bodie and guages and knobs and interior?

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
Yeah thats the game plan maybe a few modern touches but nothing to radical...our main theme honestly is gonna be a "sleeper" because nobody will expect a stock lookin' truck with a massive big block under the hood

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
well then here are 67 only parts there are other parts that are also the same on a 64 66 and 2 parts that are he same as a 60 66, here are the 67 only parts: dash konbs including cig. lighter, ''fresh air'' vents under dash, rear view mirror bracket, dash, fire wall, the seat belts, ash tray, the fenders front and back, and thats it so if you have anoy of that stuff and you know it is orginal dont throw it away and assume you can buy it repo becaus eto my suprise you cant!

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
A power brake booster is highly recommended. I just did mine last week and was well worth the $30 I paid.
Love the original paint.

Re: 1967 c10 lwb resto-mod
Not enough vacum with this cam, I'd need to put in a vacum pump or reservoir. Will put in a oversized willwood master cylinder to run 4 wheel disc brakes. I could do a Hydro boost setup, but would have to have a pwr steering pump, dont want to run anything but the alernator.
