My buddy has a 79 C 10 and he is in the market for a set of shorty headers. I have a spare brand new set that are for a 1982-91 camaro / 1978-83 malibu. Might these work on his truck? If not, would a set of these block huggers work? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G9060/

You know I had a 97 Ford F250 that the manifolds cracked. I ordered new manifolds but they seemed cheap. I gave them back at Oriely's and ordered some FORD RACING HEADERS. They were stock replacements for the manifolds and man they were build good, never had a problem.

I wonder if Chevrolet has anything like that. That would be great, Built very well and all thinck tubing and flanges.

The hugger headers will not work without a lot of work. I put them on mine and wish I had gotten different ones. The right one fits fine, the left one you have to modify the motor mount. Skip these and get some shorty's or long tube.

I meant long tubes or shorty's will work, just don't get the hugger headers.

I think he is just thinking of the ease of installation. Is there a specific model or brand that yall suggest?

What engine and mods does he have ?

I have the Hedman 1 3/4 inch on mine, and they are great, really easy to install... on an sbc

Yes stock. Rebuilt heads and block, flat tops, performer intake and a Sean Murphy quadrajet.

I've got longtube Hookers on mine, they went on without any trouble. The passenger side collector is a little close to the rear spring shackle, it clears by an inch or so. Since you're talking about a two wheel drive you may not have any problem with that.

The only possible issue I can think of is that it being a 79 if it has a catalytic converter it might be an issue to make long tubes work
