Re: Shake/Shimmy Front right side????

More than likely a ball joint. Put a floor jack under the control arm. Jack the truck up. Grab the wheel top and bottom and try to move it back and forth. Have someone else look to see where the movement is. Its either going to be a wheel bearing or a ball joint but more than likely its a bad ball joint.

Re: Shake/Shimmy Front right side????

Gavin, check the ball joints like Cableguy said, but also take a look at the upper control arm bushings. Any trouble in the front end should be a red flag. Check ALL the linkage connections (tie rod ends, pitman arm, idler arm). If it's got a grease fitting, check it. Also remember sway bar bushings and linkage. Rubber bushings should ALL be replaced if you find one bad. jim

Re: Shake/Shimmy Front right side????

years ago i made the mistake of overtightening the nut on the front wheel bearings. When my car at the time ( 74 duster) got good and hot from running it it messed up the would make a terrible shake on that side.. so make sure your wheel bearings are good and not overtightened
