Morphin' Time

The second time I ever talked to my wife was in my truck 20 years ago. I was reminding her of that the other day. She, however, pointed out to me that it's not really the same truck. Technically I am right, but, she made me realize that I have replaced so much stuff that the only things the same is the frame, the cab, and the block of the engine. Even the cab has been modified to a big window, AC, gone is the bench seat, and the doors are different. It's strange to realize that every other thing is different. I bet alot of others might realize that has happened to them too. Some parts had rust, some weren't straight enough, and years of finding a better part. Here it is 20 years ago, and today without the drive train in it on some roller wheels.

Re: Morphin' Time

That's pretty funny. My wife likes to remind me of the fact that since she's met me, I've never had the same truck for more than 18 months in the 12 years we've been together. And I've NEVER left any of them alone.

She still misses the truck I had when we met. But that was 8 trucks ago...

Re: Morphin' Time

My ex was always jealous of the time I spent on my truck ( not much really) when we were together and I rub it in her face as much as I can now that the truck has been around longer than she was. a man and his truck, it's a beautiful thing!

Re: Morphin' Time

Yes, she has told me in the past to get rid of it. I tell her that I have had the truck longer than her and I have to go in reverse order, so she goes first.

I bought this truck in 1990 in Boise, Idaho, and it was my 4th or 5th one. Then;
Nampa, Idaho - Hood
Caldwell, Idaho - Bed, which I had to buy the whole truck for.
Boise, Idaho - Tailgate
Meridian, Idaho - drivers door
Kuna, Idaho - Passenger door
New Jersey - NOS fenders
Texas - NOS aluminum grille
Ebay - NOS grille bezels
Middleton, Idaho - air conditioning
Middleton, Idaho - Big Window panel (different guy)
Ebay - Custom cab steering wheel
Can't remember - grille support
MAR-K - Front bed panel (very, very, good quality)

I put in a picture of the window panel donor truck. The bottom of the floor was cut out already, but that was kind of fun. It had a pretty good door on it that the guy may still have.
