69 c20 converting to 5 lug with a 79 chevy questions?
This summer im converting my truck to a 5 lug from a 79 chevy truck, im debating on swaping out the entire crossmember or just the a arms on down and have a few questions and your opinions and exsperiences would be great too!
1 If i just swap out the a arms on down and leave the 69 crossmember would i still have the steel style bushing a-arms? 2 If i swap out the enitre crossmember will i need certain motor mounts or will the position of the motor change at all(moved back or forward)? 3 The donor truck is a 6cly and my truck is a v8 so would the donor crossmember work with my v8? Would i need the 79 v8 motor mounts to make it work or could i use my originall 69 v8 mounts? Just for a little info on what im planning on doing this summer is im taking out the front clip and bumper, then removing the motor and transmission and thats when id like to do the swap to 5 lug. Any information like pros and cons would be great also! Im sure ill have a few more questions later on too.
