Nova or chevelle Headers

Does any one have any info on what car header fits our trucks the best?
I'm looking to step up to the 1 7/8" tube size.
Or direct me to a post.
Thanks.

Re: Nova or chevelle Headers

Big block or small block? I had hooker BB Chevelle headers on mine years ago . I had to make a small notch in the right frame rail and cut the trans crossmember for exhaust pipe clearance . The reason I used them is they didnt hang way down under the frame and drag speed bumps like the generic fit all truck headers they had back then .

Re: Nova or chevelle Headers

Regan its a small block. What you brought up about the ground clearance is another reason why I would like to run a car header. I was told they don't hang so low. So I figured double bonus. I all ready had to notch a small section out with the current hooked super comps i have on it now.
thanks

Re: Nova or chevelle Headers

This is what I'm talking about. What Nova years, pros and cons.
Same with the Chevelle headers
All a kid wants is some big tubes (1-7/8") and more ground clearance.

Re: Nova or chevelle Headers

limitedstreetoutlaw,

So how does those headers fit? I'm trying to find a set of used headers on CL.
I don't want to pay the $750 for a pair of the hooker super comps ceramic coated.
That's a price of a new 950 Hp.

Re: Nova or chevelle Headers

Sorry guys wasn't on yesterday so first time seeing this. The headers fit good for some reason i had to cut a small piece off the trans on the very edge of a corner only reason i could come up with was the headers were a little bent so that may be why i had to do that. other than that as far as i remember (key word there) lol its been while they fit with no hassle the exhaust is the only big issue you either have to run them up and over the trans cross member or get a drop cross member and run it straight out. As for years i know the guy that gave them to me had a 62 or 63 chevy 2 i don't remember if that was the year of the headers i looked them up once and i cant remember i will try and find out for you the exact year if i can.
