You won't believe this C-list story...I've completed the collection

I finally was able to find a solid '68 swb and complete my collection of all 3 body styles. You won't believe this story...

Found this 68 on c-list this morning, listed as a 67.
No pics on the ad, just a short note that said 67 swb selling cheap. No price, just a number so I was thinking "yeh right, cheap - I bet".

Anyway, decided to call and when I asked how much and the guy said $100.00, I said "how much??? don't sell it, I'm leaving now."

As you can see, it's got an A/C unmolested dash!!!

It was minus motor, but does have the 350 tranny.

and it LOOKS stupid clean for this part of the country too!
A short step 68, for almost nothing.

guy said it california plates on it when he got it and the guy he got it from had it in storage for a long time I guess.

I really can't believe this score. The guy could have easily got a lot more out of this truck. He said he just wanted it out of his way to make room for a Jeep wrangler he has coming in a couple weeks. I obviously had no problem helping him out with this one

you are going to have to pull that horseshoe out of your butt before you can #@!$.nice score! It would be worth $300 for scrape weight if it was a total rust bucket.I got $525 at the scrapeyard from a total rust bucket 72 that I pulled the tilt and motor out of a couple weeks back.Only had a little bit of junk in the bed maybe just enough to offset pulling the motor.

Re: You won't believe this C-list story...I've completed the collection

I have had to get used to those kind of deals. You find them when you look and you are FAST!!!! I am building a bracket race car to test my customer's carbs on and Have been buying parts left and right. Had a guy list a CL ad as "axles: Dana 30 front". Looked in the body of the ad and he was also getting rid of the rear. I was over there in a heartbeat. Picked myself up a Ford big bearing 9" with factory posi and 4.11 gears for $250. Granted, yours is stupid good (he was stupid and you did good) but there are other's out there.

Three body styles??

Is that like both kinds of music? Country and western...
O.k, you got me guys...I guess I was trying to convince myself I was finished. Sort of like telling yourself your not going to play another hand of poker after just winning big.
I guess this only really covers the chevy short steps in 2wd (sort of). Now there are fleet sides, gmc, long bed, short bed, small window, big window....

Boy, this could really get to where I have one for every day of the week
