I bought a '59!!!!
needless to say you can see my excitement. Anyways its a '59 Chevy Stepside, all original except a disc bake conversion up front from LMC, and the interior has been redone and the trunk painted a really nice light blue. So here are some things I'd love to have some input on...
-what's the best way to get this thing nice and low without notching the frame? (new leaf, shackles, flipping the axle?) -anyone have a decent set of 6 bolt smoothies or something close to stock? (truck has some basic chrome garbage on it now) -I plan on doing a SBC conversion, it seems pretty straight forward, any ideas/recommendations? - I also plan on wtiching it over to 5 lug...what kind of reaer ends work best this? I'd love to hear everything and anything you guys have to say....I CANNOT wait to tear into my new girl. Thanks Guys! Chops |

Re: I bought a '59!!!!
Thanks guys. I'm really excited too. I want to lower it and throw some news wheels and tires on for the summer. It will most likely get a small block over the winter.

Re: I bought a '59!!!!
does anyone have a set of 6 bolt Smoothies they want to get rid of? Or a set of Wide Whites? Also, I'm looking at different options for lowering the truck, I want to keep it safe but I also want to keep it affordable. Who doesn't right? So if anyone has any ideas, or a set of lowering leafs for it, let me know.
Thanks, Chops |

Re: I bought a '59!!!!
nice! thats one clean lookin truck! are you keeping the stock suspension? or are you looking to "subframe" the front? seems like you could do alot of things to the rear to get it down.

Re: I bought a '59!!!!
Thanks for the compliments! I am going to lower the rear, most likely just flip the axle. The front, I'm still doing some research, I don't want to take leafs out so I'm looking for a drop axle. Anyone have some good websites for that stuff?
