Re: Here's a nice fully restored 66 on craigs

very nice, I am pretty sure that the grille support needs to be painted black behind the grille. probably would have come with white mirrors, and I think the tailgate chains are supposed to be cad plated, not painted black...
but a nice restoration.

Trailer Brake Controller
And what's up with the TOYO tires on a full blown resto, I mean REALLY??? Shouldn't it be wearing Firestones or Goodyears?

Re: Here's a nice fully restored 66 on craigs

Looks pretty well done to me, but for just a couple details. Real easy stuff, so it does not figure why it wasn't done initially. The lack of black-out behind the grill and hood nostrils just stands out like a sore thumb to me. I see this frequently though, even on nicely done trucks. ??
The nicely fitted blue seat cover hurts the interior (IMO). Too bad nobody repros original appearance vinyl ones (any vendors listening). I think all tan like the factory would have been a better choice anyway.
And about $10 in stickers would help the engine compartment as well. The air cleaner and heater box look a little naked. Maybe they are there, but out of view.
Wonder what the bed looks like?
I hope Nobody takes offense at these comments, as I don't mean to be heavily critical. But on a really nice full-out resto job, details matter.
I'll shut up now.

I don't think there is offense... when it is claimed to be a concours restoration, it will get picked apart, if anything is not correct.

Check out the trailer brakes. I wonder if they really work. Still he did a pretty nice job. I could only wish mine will turn out that nice.
