powder coat or paint rear brake drums?

any opinions?

It is possible for the brake drums to get hot enough to either comprimise or melt the powder coating. When parts are powder coated, they are baked at 400-450 degrees. I would have them either ceramic coated, or use a high temp paint such as you would use on headers or exhaust.

Given that brake drums end up being replaced I would say just prep and paint them with a quality paint.
Spending the money to have them powder coated is a waste to me. I would be concerned that it cause the drum to retain the heat generated by the brakes.

I say hit them with a wire brush and give a few good coats of header paint.
