Re: Has anyone compared all the aftermarket fenders??

My dad didnt have very good luck with them, they didnt come with the rear support, the bolt holes were way off ( some were 1" off) and the nose of the fender where the front grill surround connects wasnt lined up properly, he sent them back and got some original fenders and had them cleaned up and repaired, those fit perfectly. I dont know what brand they were though

Re: Has anyone compared all the aftermarket fenders??

Here is what I would advise. BEFORE you touch a new fender, find out the cost of repairing yours, whether you do it or have it done.

Before you do anything to a new fender, verify it will fit your project completely, then have it painted.

remember, even new fenders will need some body work.

I think Goldmark's sheet metal is the better option, I could be wrong but I think they are the better.

Call your selected vendor and ask who makes the sheet metal they are selling, they should tell you, if not, dont buy from them.

Goodmark, nothing else I've tried has ever been better than "close enough".

Re: Has anyone compared all the aftermarket fenders??

bump, any other input on this? I found this site: http://www.classicdiscountparts.com that sells Auto Metal Driect, Dynacorn and Goodmark fenders for waay cheaper than any one else I've seen.. Thinking about getting a fender too, but like everyone else, don't know which to choose.

Re: Has anyone compared all the aftermarket fenders??

I bought fenders from Tuckers that are Triplus brand. They are crap. I couldn't use them on my good truck. They looked good from the side, but they are 1/4" shorter than stock, don't line up in the front, there are triangle holes in the front corners because they fold the metal over wrong in the stamping, the bolt holes will not line up and have to nearly come out of the lip on top of the inner fender to line up. Add to that that they are made out of bad steel in comparison to the originals. They may measure the same gauge, but it dents like a pop can. About Goodmark! I bought inner fenders from them and they are selling Triplus. They are soo bad that the body shop didn't want to use them. The front mounts would have to be cut off and repositioned. The hood hinge mounting points are in the wrong place. The part that mounts to the cab is welded in wrong and causes it to be crooked to one side. These could have been used if we cut off and rewelded all of those mounting points and maybe redo all of the fender mounting holes. It was cheaper to find originals and fix them. I have just decided not to buy any aftermarket again except for MAR-K. My front bed panel and side trim from them were better than factory. Awsome fit, heavy duty, looked great. The body shop bought a bed wood kit from them and it was great as well.
