Mystery Sensor

Ok, so what the heck is this sensor? My buddy overlooked taping it off during the paint, and I never really even noticed it until now (idk how I managed that). I don't have a wire on my harness that matches it. It looks like a 3 pin, but a 4th pin may have been busted off inside the plug. Anyone know what this is, and if its crucial? 03 lq4 motor.

Re: Mystery Sensor

That's going into a water jacket, so I'm going to say it's a block heater.

Re: Mystery Sensor

hahaa, ya the tb steam line is going to go. I guess I'll leave the heater in place, since I don't feel like trying to hammer a freeze plug in there with the block in. The one vehicle that I DONT drive in winter, some how has a block heater wtf.

That's good because it would be hard as hell to hammer in a threaded plug.

Re: Mystery Sensor

lol really? I never took the thing out, but the hex shape should have told me it unscrewed.

My work truck had a block heater, but it was fit into the water jacket where a freeze plug used to be (I never even used it).

Re: Mystery Sensor

I agree, it would have been much less funny if i DID actually try to do that.

Re: Mystery Sensor

lol the forum stopped me from doing anything quite that stupid. The first night I looked at it, I lay there for about 10 minutes trying to figure out what the hell it was for. I already had an issue with my harness coming with an incorrect connection, so I was afraid something else was missing.

And sorry Clyde, but the TB heater line has been removed also...I can't give WI the satisfaction of knowing it beat me. Its sunny and high 60*'s today, so I can live with that (and my new Procar seats showed up!)

Re: Mystery Sensor

The forum has prevented me from doing several stupid things and ya know, I really feel stupid when I ask but the guys and gals here are real nice and dont rag on me for my momentary lapse of intelligence....maybe not so momentary sometimes.

Dont be sorry, I was just saying I have heard yall up there have electric undies to keep from freezing and that yall only have 2 week summers, I was trying to show my concern for your trucks well being, nuts! there goes that sensitive side again.

Sweet! but you know you gotta show us some pics, right?

BTW, 85 here, t-bumpers coming in this afternoon, some severe with baseball size hail and 60mph winds. gotta love Texas weather.

Re: Mystery Sensor

Electric undies? Naw you got that wrong. When I was younger I used to rock shorts in 45*, when you grow up here its just less of an issue. I NEEED to get out of here tho, can't only live my hobby 4 months a year. I'm heading to Ky for LS fest, might just stay there.

And pics of the new seats are def coming this weekend, check the build!
