It's Amazing
what a tune up can do. I drove the truck in my avatar 400 miles home and it seemed a bit bagged. When I took out the plugs this week I was surprised it even ran. I have not seen plugs in as bad a shape as this ever. They were all evenly and equally toast, no electrodes left, balls of encrusted carbon and crap. It still idled smooth, started fine. So I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, recurved the dizzy and it scoots along pretty good now. Amazing.
I still need to adjust the choke. It is not an electric choke but the one that works off the manifold. It stays on a bit too long before it kicks off. I know how to set the fast idle, not clear on how to set the choke. Any ideas would be appreciated. cheers, |

Re: It's Amazing
I know what you mean. I've run into that a couple times, thinking something was really wrong, when all it took was a simple tune-up.
