Keeping it simple
My first truck..... 87 silverado. What is the EZ way..... It may not be the best way but what is the EZ to flipping my rear without a kit... I have been looking on there for days now... but no one has the step by step how to...... or I just missed it....

If you want to lower the rear in the most cost effective manner go with a shackle kit and relocate your stock spring hanger. The shackle is very inexpensive but might require you to notch your bed cross brake. You can remove the rivets in the stock spring hanger and move it up. You will need to trim the top some, and drill new holes but this combo will give you about 4" of drop on a small budget.
Up front you can cut one full coil off your stock spring for approximately 2" of drop that won't adversely affect your ride. The only problem with this mild drop is it will leave you wanting more...

do you guys just move the hanger up two inches and use bolts to put it back on? and how muchdo you have to trim off?

I have never done the stock hanger relocation mod. I do know that you gain about 2" and you will have to drill new holes and bolt it back on. I have read that the stock Burb hanger is shorter so there is no trimming required.
