Need help quick
I just had my starter worked on and put it back on. When I turn the key I gt nothing. Last night before I took the starter off It was doing fine. So what have I shorted out. I get nothing when I turn the key. I get no power to anything. It a 85 k30 with a 454.

Sounds like it might be a bad ground. Can you look at the voltage gauge while trying to crank? If it comes up, then goes all the way to the left while cranking, is usally the sign of a bad ground.

I don't think you shorted anything out unless you left your battery hooked up when you took it out. I am pretty sure its not getting a good connection that would cause you to have no power I believe!

yea i feel pretty stupid but I forgot to unhook the battery when I took it off. And I think that caused problems. Where should I begin to look.

Do you have working headlights, horn, etc.?
Do you have a voltmeter? Did you hook up the solenoid wrong? Measure the voltage at the solenoid to ground where the purple wire connects. I'm not certain its purple on a 73+ but the wire from the ignition switch. Is the above wire on the S terminal of the solenoid? |

check the fusible link maybe you fryed it when you took the starter out with it still connected

where is the fusible link. I am getting absolutly no power anywhere and these are two brand new baterries. Some pictures would help my dumb butt alot.

Ok, I finally realized I didn't have the positive battery cable hooked up, but I did get all the wires cleaned and straitened up and put up neatly. Thanks for the help.
