Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

Hey Y'all! Not been here much in a long while. Just got laid off after 2.5 yrs and have some time to do some stuff.

I came across a new set of AirRide Tech Shockwave 7000. Never installed with dump valves, fitting and lines but no compressor, switches or gauge.

Before I spend the pennies I'd like some input from you guys if possible.

I know they will fit, but do you think these will hold up to the weight of my big rig?

Thanks for the input Y'ALL!!

Re: Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

If they are 8" indiameter and have 9-12" of height they should work just fine......Kieth

Re: Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

These are the 4" diameter for tight fit locations. No larger than the Monroe airshocks I have right now. But for the price I can get these for - it's very a good deal and a better ride (adjustable) than now with the 5" drop springs. Just need to grab the compressor at the Pomona swapmeet this weekend. Thanks

Re: Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

The ride will not be good.......you will just be able to adjust ride height. If your truck is on coil spring you could but bags for about 60.00 each plus a set of brackets for 40.00, you could air them up with a remote compressor and have a plush ride and later add the compressor. Kieth

Re: Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

I think you may find that your rig is a little too heavy for these. IIRC, the capacity is around 1500 lbs (for the two - ~750 lbs each) at the max PSI.

Thanks Guys! the price is very CHEAP no where is 900 retail price. May pick them up and turn them around at Pomona this weekend.

Kieth/All, What bags and brackets are you referring to? Suggestions please. I load up 700+lbs V-Twin motorcycles in it from time to time. Thanks!

Re: Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

I was gonna take them out. $100 bucks for all items I listed.

May hold off and just find brackets n bags this weekend at Pomona.

If I did run the shockwaves n springs - these would do much better than the air shocks - correct? Thanks!

no if you compress them they should stay down. If they come up on there own they have become air charged and I would sell them

My buddy has them right now. I'll ask him to try this. He did mention that did have have them fully extended manually and then compressed. but was not able to extend again.

Re: Shockwave 7000's on rear of my C20??

Jon, Ok kewl! Recently laid off and want to do some budget minded but good work on the back end now and maybe front next month.

I have 5" CCP springs and air shocks in it now. C-notch from Brothers is on the work bench and planned to cut this in tomorrow.

Basic needed for the rear for a bolt in bracket setup. Need bags lines, fittings etc... Thanks

Also don't want to cut into bed just yet as I'm raising floor on both my fleet and step side beds for this truck. I just need to determine out how much to raise the floors....
