Driveshaft question

Hey everyone. I was cruising craigslist the other day and found a 3 speed o/d transmission for sale. I have made arrangement to pick up the trans this Sunday, but I have a question for anyone who can answer it. My driveshaft is a two piece design with a four speed (granny gear) behind it. I heard that when I swap the transmission, I could use a th350 slip yoke for it and attach it to my drive shaft and be done. Is this true? Thanks

The truck is a 63 longbed with a granny 4 speed.

Re: Driveshaft question

the slip yokes are common amoung most of the gm transmissions, the slip yoke on my 3 speed manual was compatable with the 700r4 transmission slip yoke that I used later in my build. I am not sure how long this stays common but it was good up to 1991.
