Show Me Your Fuzzies (No.. not you Congressman Wiener!)

Do any of you know of anybody making window fuzzies that fit in the correct factory location, flush with the window sill door sheet metal?

Let me explain....

Finished up installing the new door glass weatherstripping. Quite an adventure, again partly due to the previous owners shennaigans. Found out the drivers side door glass actuator had one of the arms installed upside down. That raised the front of the glass up about 5/8".

Now that I fixed that and installed all the new rubber products I am pretty pleased, except for one thing. The window fuzzies just are not designed right, and they are quality is poor, IMO.

I went ahead and bought the chrome fuzzies because some of you posted that the black ones rust real quickly. Well they sit to low, actually slightly below the window sill door sheet metal. This makes the window in the up postion just barely fitting into the upper track moulding. And (2) of the retaining clips broke off during installation.

Window fuzzies are made in America by "Repops" in Pearcy Arkansas. I will follow up with contacting them tomorrow.

You can see in this photo how the outer window fuzzy is lower than the door window sill. About 0.160" in front by the ventilator.

Anyone tried Steele? I am in need of some door fuzzies, I used Classic Parts on a previous 64 --I had the same issues 5+ yrs ago. Why are we stuck w/junk repro stuff?

Check out my build thread, specifically posts #45, 46, 63, 65 & 70. Click here: My Build Thread: 1965 C10 SWB SS
Back to the fuzzies.... I contacted Repops today. They will be sending me a new set of window felts. I will report back here when I get them as to if they are different than the set I installed yesterday.

And when the new set arrives I will compare them to the OEM parts I removed originally.

...........and here I thought I was the only one having problems with fuzzies. Chrome beaded fuzzies from Classic. They set too low and hold the glass back.

I just pulled my mine out today, should I keep original clips, or do after market strips come with them?

Mine were installed and I quickly realized I had to squeeze the clips a bit with a pair of pliers prior to installing. The very first clip I installed broke right off

My precision brand ones are having this issue too, anyone find a better brand? (have to say that the rest of the kit seemed pretty spot on.

Re: Show Me Your Fuzzies (No.. not you Congressman Wiener!)

I got mine at classic parts and they fit good. I broke a clip on the first door trying to push them straight in and bending the clips with pliers. One the second door I pushed the top part of the clip into the hole and swung the bottom down, like the top part of the fuzzies had a hinge all the way down the window, hold it tight at the top and swing the bottom down and you should here a loud click. hope this helps they went in fairly easy this way.

Re: Show Me Your Fuzzies (No.. not you Congressman Wiener!)

I got them to go in ok (did break a clip) but having the issue above where you can't roll the window up all the way...i'll likely look at it again tomorrow.

Re: Show Me Your Fuzzies (No.. not you Congressman Wiener!)

I have the same problem, can't roll the window up all the way. I don't plan on replacing them seeing how they were a b@#$% to install in the first place.

Re: Show Me Your Fuzzies (No.. not you Congressman Wiener!)

I was able to get them in last by just rolling the window down all the way. When i took the truck apart it had aftermarket ones where you just cut to length and use tiny screws to hold them in. I hate to do that when i have the correct ones. I'll see what i can try later.
