clemdaddy - maybe they need a moderator and no one has ever requested one for Arkansas?
I'm sure they'd set one up if the Arkansas folks requested it. Contact your friendly forum Administrators for more information. Site Feedback and Announcements. -W Last edited by Woogeroo; 09-12-2011 at 03:05 PM. |

Woogeroo, every time I see one of your posts, I wonder where chapter 12, paragraph 15 is.
Now that you've updated your sig, I guess that mystery has been solved

Re: Region forums here on the board, find yours!
No Nevada yet? Being only about 40 miles from the Nevada border, and only 80 miles from Reno, we tend to socialize most with people in the Reno area. Almost 5 hours north of Sacramento area, and about 10 hours north of L.A. puts us quite out of the way for any Southern or Central Californian. I thought I saw a section with Reno/Sparks people posting, but I can't seem to find it now. Great idea though......

Site Feedback and Announcements. If ya'll want an Arkansas regional forum, someone has to ask for one... and prolly some even tempered person needs to be the moderator. -W |

Re: Region forums here on the board, find yours!
There were region areas for all of the States. The ones that had less than 20 or so posts in 2 years were removed. Those use the north west, south west etc now. If there is a call for one again, they can be added back. Just no sense in an unused area sitting there looking silly

It is that time of year again folks... car shows, cruise ins, mud pits are open, time for cruising and camping and what not.
Check out your regional forums for the latest and get to posting details about events in your area! -W examples for needed details when posting about an event: type of event(what) address(where and maybe how to get there) start and end time (when) thing to see nearby or interesting places to eat or whatever. |

Good Idea Woogeroo. Can I copy your original post and post it in the 67-72 section? Lots of members there don't know about regions section.

car show/cruise in season is done in most places... but go explore your area in the Regions forums. Also, they added this new section for listing details on upcoming Events. There is also an Event Coverage area for posting photos and commentary, after the fact. Shows & Events Go Explore! -W Last edited by Woogeroo; 11-20-2013 at 08:38 PM. |

Re: Region forums here on the board, find yours!
In Summer of 2013, there was a new area created:
Shows & Events which has the following sub-forums: Events Here you will find posts with information on non 67-72chevytrucks.com site related shows, cruises, swap meets and similar 'old trucks are fun' events. Meets & Greets Here you will find information on community(related to this forum) get togethers, shows, and meet and greets. Event Coverage NOTE : your event photos will be moved here. Here you will find pictures and summaries from all shows and events, that your fellow forum members wish to share.
-- There is a little overlap between the Regions area and the Shows and Events... but I'm sure ya'll can figure it out. Enjoy, -W Last edited by Woogeroo; 12-12-2013 at 06:16 AM. |

I wish more folks knew about the Region forums... but most folks don't really explore the forums like I do, I suppose. It's a little like wandering around a college library at this point. "hey, where does this hall go? Hey, they built a whole new wing!" ---- The Regions forums are now for meeting local folks of course... planning events, asking about local parts sources or services(paint, mechanics, component rebuilds, etc..) related to our old trucks. Then the Events section is for posting all details once a date has been set.... or if it is a known event with a set time/date. Then after the event has occurred, everyone can post photos, videos and commentary in the Event Coverage section. I believe the thinking to be that if you love seeing that sorta thing, you can find all of it in one easy location. That is merely conjecture on my part tho'. NOTE: it is easy to see the events in your area, if you scroll down to the bottom and do a 'sort by prefix', find the two letter abbreviation for the state, same as you can in the Parts Boards. Then you can check events in your state or nearby states for you 'up nawth' folks. -W |

Re: Region forums here on the board, find yours!
-- Explaining the Regions Forums -- Here at the 67-72chevytrucks.com forum, we have a section of Forums listed as Regions. These sub-forums are for the various geographic areas of the world, where you and your fellow forum members reside. Within these forums people post notices about upcoming or reoccurring Chevy/GMC truck related events, such as:
Be sure to check out the forums for your Region and maybe you will meet some new truck guys and gals or find out about some interesting events! It is also a great place to ask about quality shops in your area that perform specific types of work. Body shops, exhaust shops, machine shops, welding shops, radiator shops, used parts sources, which new part stores have folks who can and will work with you on looking things up and much more. Any kind of automotive legislation for the area or insurance and other legal regulations(exhaust/safety/lift laws/old truck registration changes, etc.) are sometimes discussed as well. NOTE: Keep it factual and cite sources of information. I've met several great truck guys because of some events planned in the Regions area there, so get in there and start posting in your area. Regions For the United States there are these groups which have the individual States broken down within: Southwest There is also an International and Canada section as well! International If your State/Province/Country/Area is not listed with it's own forum, but you feel that you have enough active forum members in your Regional area to justify it's own forum... contact your friendly forum Administrators in the Site Feedback and Announcements forum to see about getting a new one started! There has to be a lot of activity for them to consider adding one, also someone will need to be the moderator. Suggested subject line : Region forum creation request : *the name of the region*NOTE: Originally there were specific message boards for each US State in the Regions area. The State boards that had less than 20 posts over a 2 year time frame(long ago) were removed as they were not being used. People within those States with no specific forum just use the northeast, southwest etc., forums, now. --- Regions Forums END --- In Summer of 2013, there was a new area created: Shows & Events Which contain the following sub-forums:
The original thread announcing the new areas, explaining their intent and purpose : Events Forum / post : June 2013 [Site Feedback and Announcements] Events The Regions forums are now for meeting local folks of course... planning events, asking about local parts sources or services(paint, mechanics, component rebuilds, etc..) related to our old trucks. Then the Events section is for posting all details once a date has been set.... or if it is a known event with a set time/date. Then after the event has occurred, everyone can post photos, videos and commentary in the Event Coverage section. I believe the thinking to be that if you love seeing event coverage from all over the place, you can find the coverage in one easy location and gorge yourselves on truck photos. That is merely conjecture on my part tho'. NOTE: it is easy to sort the events in your area. Scroll down to the bottom of the Events forum to where it reads: Display Options. Where it reads 'prefix', find the two letter abbreviation for the State you wish to sort by, look to the right & then click on 'Show Threads'. Ta-da, the events created for that State are the only ones you are viewing, this saves time. You can also sort the same way in the various Parts Boards. ---- The 67-72chevytruck.com forum is quite large. The list of forums is quite extensive. However, many of those forums, have sub-forums! So, it will be worth your while to explore them all and get a feel for the place. Sometimes this place is like an old parts warehouse or book store. There are lots of nooks and crannies to check out... where the good information is lying around. It takes awhile to get a feel for this place and figure out where everything lives. Go Explore! -Woogeroo , your friendly 60-66 FAQ Index Archivist & fellow Chevy truck addict. Last edited by Woogeroo; 01-23-2014 at 03:00 PM. |

Re: Region forums here on the board, find yours!
You can also subscribe to a forum and you will see it listed under your User CP under Subscribed forums.
You can also choose how to receive notifications. I just like to be subscribed, then I can check my User CP for any activity. For forums that don't get 100's of posts a day, this can be handy to keep up with things. So, let's say we are going to subscribe to the North & South Carolina Region forum. First, we need to go to the list of forums and scroll down. Here we are, so we can click on Regions or a general area. For this tutorial we are going to click on Regions. Now we are here in the main Regions sub-forum showing the various areas. For this tutorial we are subscribing to the North and South Carolina region forum, so that's the one we click on. Now we are in the North and South Carolina region forum, checking things out. If we want to subscribe to the forum we look around up top, to the right and find : Forum Tools . We click and we have options, click on Subscribe to This forum. The forum will redirect you to this window... O.K., now we are here, what to do? Choose your preference of receiving emails or not when new messages are posted. Then hit the Add Subscription button, which is hidden in this screen shot by the options list. You will again be redirected, and you should see this notification : Things have gone well! Then you will be redirected back to the forum you subscribed to, in this case the North and South Carolina region forum. There should now be a listing in your User CP under subscribed forums... |

Re: Region forums here on the board, find yours!
In your User CP, under subscribed forums, you will see this :
As new posts are made, it will show the last post... and the title of the forum will be shown in BOLD font. If you ever want to Unsubscribe, just click the link in the list. You can re-subscribe following the steps above and make different choices if you like. I find this useful in keeping an eye on my regional forum as it does not have activity every week. It picks up during warmer weather and car show season, depending on what's going on. I hope you find this useful, Enjoy, -W |
