dash years?
Will the 73-80 dashpad fit on the 81-91 metal dash "skeleton", or are they completely different? From the pictures I have seen, I like the 73-80 pads better. Especially because of the strange angular passenger side on the dashpad of the 81-91's.

Re: dash years?
Yes they will fit fine the only thing is that your vin will be hidden by the dash.

Re: dash years?
I put a 78 dash pad in my buddy's 86 K5. For the most part, it is a direct swap. Here are some things to consider:
You will need a dash bezel from a 73-80, as well as the piece that goes under the steering wheel. If your wiper switch is on the column, there will be an empty slot where the wiper switch would be. I put a toggle switch there for the off-road lights. The headlamp switch will be in the wrong spot on the new bezel. You'll have to drill a new hole for the switch, and move it up. Not a hard thing to do, but remember to mount the dash bezel, mark where the new headlamp location will be, and drill away. |
