Suicidedoors Link Bars?

So im looking into ordering Pre-fabbed 4 link bars from suicidedoors but ive heard rumors of buisness closing down and people waiting 8 weeks for a universal 4 link. anybody have any recent expirience purchasing with SD?

Does anybody have any input on these link bars? Good, Bad? Other options?

Thanks guys

Re: Suicidedoors Link Bars?

I used a triangulated four link on my Dually project and it is nice stuff. I did purchase these parts 5 to 6 years ago. I would not order online, I would talk to a warm body and make sure it was in stock if it were me. I did not have any problem at the time with them. Many vendors on this site may also be able to help you with this.

Re: Suicidedoors Link Bars?

I used their link kit on the 52' I'm building and am very happy with all of their products. They recently changed their name to quality air ride. The build time on the 4-links are usually 3 weeks. DeWayne

I have heard a lot of good things about thier products, so i guess i just have to go for it...

Is the name change maybe why people might be saying thier going out of buisness?

Thanks for your responses guys.

Re: Suicidedoors Link Bars?

Jason Has changed names to quality air ride and yes there are some delays but 8 weeks may be a little extreme. We have 4 links instock ready to ship and offer huge forum member discounts and free tech advice our product or not.... Let me know if you have any questions regarding our 4-link or a 4-link in general...

I would definately like to support people that are associated with this forum because this is where I am.

I was thinking of using "SD" or "QAR" Because of the ability to buy 4 link bars custom made to my desired dimension.

Is there any other vendors here on the forum that can do this? I need 4 bars with 2.25" Bushings on each end with a 19.5" center to center length measurement. I really like the beefy look of the 1.5" tubing also. QAR is around 200 bucks for all four bars.

Any ideas??

Re: Suicidedoors Link Bars?

I have worked with Nate @ Porterbuilt as well as Jason @ Suicide doors (now Quality Air Ride), and have gotten great support from both of them. I ordered my 4 link from Jason back when I was building my truck, and their 4 links are not a "universal" kit. They wanted to know axle diameter for the tabs, link bar lengths, ect. It was made to what I needed, and the fit was excellent. Really beefy stuff too, a guy I know that builds mustangs could not believe how big the bars were, as they were alot bigger than the typical 4 links you see under the drag cars you see. I guess if you are not worried about weight, you can use big stuff like that.

That being said, I know they are behind, as Jason does most of the welding to ensire quality, but it does take a while to get some things. The quality is there, and I have no clue what the wait time would be for some of their stuff. It would be best to call them, as every time I have ordered from them they have been up front with me on what the expected wait will be, and I have usually recieved it before they said.

Also you can check with Nate @ porterbuilt, as he has always been VERY helpful and knowledgeable when I have had questions, and all I have ordered from him so far is some billet rack and pinion bushings. Nate specalizes in these trucks, and Im sure will build you a 4 link made to your specs, instead of shipping out a "universal" kit. The parts I have seen of Nate's are always quality stuff as well, and he does back up his parts and is there to answer any questions you may have.

In the end, either choice would be a great one, just dont order a universal kit from just whatever company you find that says they can ship it out the fastest. You may have to wait a little longer, but it will save you a ton of install time when you dont have to spend hours upon hours to make some universal kit fit your build. The install will go much smoother, look better, and a much more enjoyable experence instead of frustrating as hell.

Re: Suicidedoors Link Bars?

The drawing looks very nice. We have a bolt in four-link that is similar... the design will work well. Let me know if you need some parts or pieces to put it all together (rod ends, tube inserts, misalignments, DOM). We can help get you the parts so you can weld it all up yourself and save a few bucks.

We used to be right there off Higley and Main, moved a little further East a year ago (Ironwood and Guadalupe). We can arrange a time to meet up if you would like. Just shoot me a PM or email with your number and a good time to call you and we can go from there.
