Transmission cover question
The SM 465 trans I put in my '53 five window sits higher than the floor pans.
Even if I had the original cover I don't think it would work. Looking through various catalogs the 55-59 4 speed trans cover seems domed higher in the center. Your thoughts please. |

These trucks used sm 420s the sm 465 is quite a bit taller and about 2" longer

SM 420 is what was original to the truck. 465 is a bigger transmission with a taller shift cover. You will need to make your floor cover fit. A 55-59 will not fit the floor.
