'65 Custom Campers...
I've never actually seen one, I've seen '66 though, actually had one myself. So other than the badge, what makes it a Custom Camper? Was thinking of outfitting my '65 with the badges and accessories, if I can find them. I need to hit the local classic car wrecking yard.....

Re: '65 Custom Campers...
Well, I can't do the west coast mirrors without removing the larger mirrors that are on my truck now and filling some holes, but my '65 is a C20. Adding the badges would look pretty sweet. The search is now on! Another thing I'd really really like to have is power steering, but I don't want to hack up a bunch of stuff. What's the process for adding that?

Re: '65 Custom Campers...
Van Pershing - '66 c20 REZ kit for power steering swap.
See pics, see the scans of their instruction manual. I think there is a vendor here on the forum that also sells a bracket for swapping PS into our trucks, but I can't recall who at the moment. Maybe they or someone who knows will chime in. You could also check around in the 'review board' here on the forum for a vendor. -W edit, more information on the PS brackets: here is the link to the Captainfab bracket ; site vendor/supporter ---- REZ Engineering - No website yet, call or write - power steering kit. used trucks to part out(particularly 4x4). 1960 - 1966 Chevy/GMC. - PO Box 1584 - Great Falls, Montana 59405 - Ph. 406-727-9267 from the truck mag custom classic trucks.... pictures and how to instructions regarding the install of power steering using the REZ Engineering kit. http://www.customclassictrucks.com/t...fit/index.html Last edited by Woogeroo; 08-22-2011 at 08:53 AM. |

Re: '65 Custom Campers...
CaptnFab is the dealer, I used the REZ bracket 20+ years ago and it is still on my truck. worked perfectly.

Re: '65 Custom Campers...
I'll have to make my power steering mod at some point. Right now my 283 doesn't even have a pump for it.
As far as the custom camper goes, I've got most of those options except the badge itself. Would love get my hands on one of those for '65. Posted via Mobile Device |
