Wiring Issues!

Im about ready to start on my truck its gonna be a long adventure. But Im wanting to pretty much strip everything I can first then go back and reassemble and fix as I go. My cab Wiring seems to have a bit of a problem.


Do they make wiring harness kits to completely redo the wiring in the entire truck? Or would I need to strip out all the wiring and figure out how to rewire it all myself? Either way I dealt with some wiring like this in a 69 ford ranger as a kid. And its not worth keeping the current wiring and trying to fix, at least to me. Id much whether take all the current wiring out and start over.

Check out American Auto Wire.....They have the best harness IMO....they have a drop in unit

ahh thats a easy fix,just wire nut all the loose ends into one, flip the key to on and what ever wires burn up dont belong!!!! Ive rewired couple of cars with just some 12 circuit wiring harness's and have found it best to just strip all the old wiring out and just follow the labeled wires in the kit...heres some examples.....

i know lmc sells a universal 13 circuit wiring harness but for 359.00 way over priced!! and a plug and play harness for 699.95!!! if your not scared of a little rewiring and head scratching id just get a haywire or ezwire harness and save some money.

Rebel Wire is the way to go. That is who I used. The price is right and the quality is great as is the customer service.

Just one note: It only supports a 1 wire charging system, so you can't use the 3 wire alternator and external regulator. Other than that it has all the bulkhead connectors, pigtails, etc...

Thnx everyone for the advice Ill check out all of them and make some phone calls in the morning. Maybe that way the vendors can help me decide based on the setup Im thinking of. Basicly I have a 350 sitting in a trans am with a bunch of edelbrock goodies on it and accel ignition system that Im wanting to drop in my 60 stepper.

When I bought my truck the wiring was in that kind of shape, and there wasn't a wire that hadn't been spliced into several times.

I bought the '60-66 C10 Painless wiring kit from Summit and couldn't be happier. It was easy to rewire the entire truck. After doing so I noticed the truck actually ran better, and now it's easy to locate everything I need. All the wires are labeled, and it comes with wires for things you may not have but might want later, such as electric fan, hazard lights, cab and rear mounted fuel tank sender wires, etc ...
