Plow truck......
Figured maybe starting a build thread would get me moving to finish this BEFORE winter hits this year...
Obviously before shots from last year..

Re: Plow truck......
Its a pretty rough old truck but has served me well for several years now. The idea is to make it a nice truck but not so nice I don't want to use it to plow snow or use....Picked up a cab from an '85 but will have to address the fact that it was 2wd. P/S cab corner repair

Re: Plow truck......
Pretty much where its at now, that's why I needed the incentive.... Doors are on and have window & power regulators installed, entire cab & ft. clip are sealed & ready to drop on frame then spray.

Re: Plow truck......
Very nice work. I am glad I don't have time/space/skill to do my own paint and body work. It would cause schedule problems.

Re: Plow truck......
Crap...........this should have been in Project & Builds.
Thanks guys. I have been "working at home" for close a year now(after over 16 years in a GM dealership) I defiantly enjoy it, but personal projects take a back seat to paying jobs. My plan is to still plow with it but have a nice 4x4 short bed old Chevy. My biggest goal was to eliminate as much rust as I can, seal & protect it so it will last for awhile, but it is a work truck for sure. I spend alot of time working on Buick Gran Sports as well as mechanical repairs on all cars. Although I am doing to body of a 1940 Buick right now. If you are in the area, and need something done, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK.!!!! The pictures with watermarks and graphics are seen as advertising, which is against the rules.

Re: Plow truck......
Couple more pics of my projects. If I can ever get caught up then I'd actually be able to begin on my '70 SWB

Re: Plow truck......
Didn't get to plow any last year, no snow..... Sounds like we will make up for some of that today.... I located a better bed that I still have to repair/paint, but here is where its at right now, SHOULD be MUCH nicer to use...............

Re: Plow truck......
Well that didn't last long.............. Had a guy come thru a stop and hit me, but looks like the insurance company is going to come thru, so I'm collecting parts to repair,,,AGAIN!!! LOL, I have already gathered MOST of what I need, but, I lucked into really nice headlamp bezels before, don't think I will be as lucky this next time. Do the plastic repo ones fit/look decent at all??

Re: Plow truck......
That stinks! Hate to see your hard work getting smashed up.

One of these days (when I get caught up with my other projects) I'd like to fix my old plow truck up a little more than just the quick rustoleum paint job I slapped on over the old rust, bondo, and dents. It was actually a left over parts truck from back when Dad and I restored his truck. But we didn't use much off it because most of the body panels are aftermarket replacements and are rusted/dented beyond repair. The frame/drivetrain is still decent but we didn't need any of that for the resto so I ended up using it for a plow truck instead. |

Re: Plow truck......
Thanks for the positive comments.........
I won't spend the money for NOS bezels as this is a work/plow truck mostly, but did enjoy having it looking nice. These old Chevy trucks still gather some attention...lol Good to hear on the aftermarket bezels, I'm going "junkin" tomorrow in search of a few parts since we have a nice little heat wave going on. THANKS!
