1966 GMC Suburban Wiring Diagram
I don't know why I didn't ask this questions about a week ago but I have been searching everywhere for a wiring diagram of my 1966 GMC suburban. The only diagrams I can find have to be purchase and hope someone has one I could use. My suburban has two headlights and a parking light in the front if that helps. I know this is a long shot but I will keep my fingers crossed.

Re: 1966 GMC Suburban Wiring Diagram
I have done google searches and can only find the pay ones. I purchased a new wiring harness and have been trying to rewire the headlights. The only diagrams I can find are for two headlights and I am looking for 4 headlights diagram. If you could post the link to the diagram you mention that would be great.

Re: 1966 GMC Suburban Wiring Diagram
dual headlight systems work like this:
Low beams have 3 pole sockets hi beam bulbs have 2 pole sockets: when the low beams are on the low beam lights come on, when you turn on the hi beams the power goes to the hi beam bulb as well as the hi beam bulb in the low beam bulb. Do it with relays, it will make the light a lot brighter since the bulbs will be drawing power directly from the battery instead of through the headlight switch. Kieth I just rewired my 66 gmc and it has 4 bulbs went to halogen bulbs (only $7.00 each) sure puts out a lot more light. |

Re: 1966 GMC Suburban Wiring Diagram
is there a diagram for this mod on here? or part#'s for the relays and bulbs? I have some random relays. old harley stuff. I have a ford type solenoid on the fenderwell so battery power to the relays would be easy. I even have a multiple relay mount that could be put next to the solenoid. then one for high beam and one for low? two wires to the dimmer switch? some night photos of the difference would be good. or some feedback on any relay failures.
