swapped sm 465 Mech linkage to hydraulic
I just completed this swap on my 86 fullsize blazer. All i could find was bits and pieces of info on this swap. Everything i used was stock of the shelf parts except for the bracket I made for the Slave cylinder. This isnt a tech write up just info i gathered and how i did mine so maybe to help others. i am going to try and post some pics.
1. The holes in the firewall are indeed there, even a center hole dimple so you dont even have to guess at the center for the master cylinder. I got it Oreillys. 2. picture shows master and resivoir mounted 3. just some pics of the bracket. The resivoir, hose, cap came from LMC. The hose was way cheaper thru them The master cylinder and slave came from Oreilys. Oh, and that is the mechanical clutch , clutch arm. I dont have pics of under the dash, its prettty straight foward. I am temp using a bolt thru the clutch pedal till i find a piece of rod to weld in. The master cylinder rod misses the clutch pedal by about three inches and the retun spring hookup needs to be cut off the clutch pedal. Hope some of this info and pics help help as i am not a typing tech about explaining things. All in all a very easy swap to do, and alot easier to mash the clutch in |

Do you have any deflection on the slave cylinder bracket? I've been thinking about doing something similar with my 83 camaro...the mechanical on it really sucks.

Nice and clean setup. How much money do you think the swap cost?

Re: swapped sm 465 Mech linkage to hydraulic
thanks.
No there is no movement in the plate. i used 1/4 thick plate. i had it laying around. total cost prolly just over $100. Like i said the slave and master cylinder was the cheapest at oreilys and the hose, resivoir and cap was cheaper thru LMC. Clean the fire wall really good, they are hard to find as u can see mine is an offroad only from the dirt. If you see in my pic the dianond shape edge is the same shape as the master. the dimples shoukld be there kinda diaganal . |

Tagged also. Great writeup, as I'm planning on doing something similar on my 66 K10. Do you know what the fitting sizes are on the fittings for the master and slave cylinders?

Re: swapped sm 465 Mech linkage to hydraulic
I don't have the measurements, but if they are anything like the fittings on the clutch hydraulics for my camaro the fittings are held in with a roll pin.
