1972 C10 Rear Bag Mount Concepts and Ideas

Can you guys post some images and ideas for rear bag mount locations?

I'm bagging my sons 72 Chevy C10 and it has a leaf setup but I'll be ditching that. Lookin for an alternative setup, 3-link, 4-link...etc. Need to know the best place for mounting the bags and how/where to mount them.

It all depends on your skills and what your after namely how low do you wanna be?

I think the best riding set up is the bags on the bars. This will also give you more lift than just the height of the bag.

I'm a triangulated four link fan, but most real handling and performance guys don't care for them. Works for me as mine is cruiser. I chose a kit for mine.


Sleeve bags behind the axle ride pretty good. A backhalf is not a bad idea if you got the skills and time. Here is a simple sleeve bag setup that I think is very clean. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=338392

If you aren't trying to lay frame check out how N2TRUX's black square body used to be setup. One of the best examples of a leaf sprung truck with bags. Nice and low, clean and simple.

Lastly bag over axle setups. They ride way to stiff for me so I wouldn't consider them.

I like the setup in that pic of yours, that shouldn't be too hard to make up actually.

We will be dumping the leaf springs......

No it wouldn't be hard to do and if you go through the build threads there are a number of similar setups with square tube lower bars.

Ditch your leaf springs and swap to trailing arms.

i have bag over axle with trailing arms and 2" drop block...havent rode in it yet so i cant tell you about the ride.
