Door Latch Remotes
I started working on my '50 3/4 ton doors and ran across a question regarding the latch remotes. On the rh door the lever arm is facing down with the flat rod located in the formed recess. (parallel with the recess) On the lh door the lever arm was pointing up and the flat rod was at a downward angle and not in the formed recess. Do I have some mismatched remotes or is this normal? Should the flat rods both be located in the formed recess? See pics below.

Re: Door Latch Remotes
both of the ones on my 52 GMC are over the top like your first picture.I will do a walk about today and see how the other ones are
the picture in my shop manual shows them on the bottom. that looks right to me. Last edited by mknittle; 10-30-2011 at 12:47 PM. |

Re: Door Latch Remotes
They do sell a RH and a LH door latch remotes.. the ones on the suburban were like the first picture but they would have rubbed hard on the door panel.. had to buy new ones so we just put them on this way..

Re: Door Latch Remotes
I checked the 11 trucks/cabs we have. only one had the pull rod on the bottom,A 48' the rest had them on top. the trucks range in year from 48' to 54'. so both are correct.
