What adapter?
What adapter do I need to use a mechanical temp gauge on my 5.3? I ordered a ATM-2275 and it doesnt seem to fit anywhere? What am I missing?
This is what I ordered: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-2275/

Re: What adapter?
most people are useing adaptors to use electric gauges i think. there is a big thread on this under tapping the head. I run a mechanical but i bought a hose fitting with the right size threads for the mechanical gauge (in the top radiator hose) only problem with this set up is you don't see temp till the theromastat opens. but i can tell you if i don't have a reading with in a few min of the truck running I know there is a problem. the problem is that the mechanical gauge has such a large probe and thread size its hard to adapt it or even tap a large enough hole.
