6.ol swap
so, I found a 2001 LQ4 6.ol with 180km out of a 4x4, buddys going to give me a 4l80e out of a 2wd, the complete wiring harness, ecm, starter, front drive acc, o2 sens, and whatever else I need for $2500...I know the mileage is a little high, but if I get everything?...so far 6.0l have been a little hard to find, most wreckers around here want $1000 for a 6.ol that they dont have, and another $800- $1000 for a tranny, $400-500 for the harness, $200 for the computer it adds up...any thoughts?

Re: 6.ol swap
$2500 us or CA ?
Either way it seems a bit pricey for high mileage stock stuff. You should be able to get a complete engine and trans with that kind of mileage for less than $1500 or so usd.

Re: 6.ol swap
so thats like 65k miles or so eh?
$2k cad isn't terrible starting. I'd see if you can offer $16-1800 cad. Wouldn't be a terrible price and a low-ish mileage van engine is a nice start.

Re: 6.ol swap
02 Chevy/GMC Express/Savana Vans did not have Gen III engines. LQ4s were available in 03 model vans.

Re: 6.ol swap
$2500 is high for a LQ4... for that price it should be a LQ9 and would have less miles. Reference Ebay motors and just search LQ4 (if you dont use it much) that will give you a idea. Hope the second one works out.. 2k for the whole setup is decent

Re: 6.ol swap
the service van that hosted many of my parts was dbw, but it was also a chassis-cab van...I'm not sure if that makes it "medium duty" or if things change at that point.
