This is a little different!
Looking on Ebay and stumbled across this. I really don't care for it, just thought I would share it with you guys, goes to show you that you can do prety much anything to one of these trucks.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=5348

it even has ABS I dont know about the rest of you but one of the reason a like to drive older trucks is so I don't have to deal with all the problems that computers and sensors bring along. |

Interesting. How did they french in this late-80's early 90's Chevy dash???? You'd have to be pretty skinny to slide behind the wheel.
Me, I'd rather have an original. P.S. I don't really like the looks of the steering column/linkage under the hood. It looks pretty scary.

lol...fredom in...LOFL!
That thing will be pretty expensive. Lots of time went into it. New style wiper motor, hyd clutch, the dash swap....lots of labor. |

I agree with dtlilly ... if ya want a late model truck, why not just buy one & modify it ??
![]() I will give them credit though ... no doubt it took tons of time, labor and cash ... Last edited by Shane; 04-25-2003 at 11:23 AM. |

After going back and looking at this truck, it looks to me like they changed out the whole fire wall. Man they put a ton of hours into this truck, and a lot of money too!

I guess it's kinda neat, and different. It looks to have taken alot of work. I'm with Gee-Emm, I like the older trucks for the fact that I can diagnose them without a scanner, and one of the many things I don't like about the late model trucks is the dashboard. I love the dash in a 67-72.

Why would anyone do such a thing? Makes no sense to me.

Seems to me it would have been easier to start with the 92 and add in the 71 front clip, cab, and bed!
But what do I know? Brian |

"A" for effort and craftsmanship ability. "F" for style. This is a truck noone can agree on.

I wonder about the listing...it's listed as a 1971 Chevrolet, but right underneath that its listed as a 1972 Chevrolet GMC. Then farther down in the listing it says its a 6 - cyl, but the pic of the engine bay looks like a V8...but could it be a new 4.3L V6 or an old 305 V6? Hmm...there's gotta be some reason they're selling it...

I never care to bid on the "selling for a friend" items. Also noticed that it's listed at the top as a Cheyenne.

It is a 4.3 V6. Why would you waste all that time and not even do a V8. I like the whole running gear setup, iffy on the interior thing, but why do a V6?

going out on a limb here-- but i actually like the dash idea, i've wanted to do that before... other then the bumper, and being a V6 instead of a 350, i like it

I don't like it. The V6 just makes it that much worse.

Well if you're gonna go for that style dash, you might as well find a newer one and hack it. They have curved gauge bezels and look 10000% better. I think that's kinda done wrongly. IDK, maybe it's just me. I'da just started with a swb '92 frame and threw on the front of our era truck, less work. And smarter too.

I saw a 70 that the guy took a wreacked 454 SS and used everything on it. Dash, f/wall,drivetrain etc. Had a shop done it in house. I liked it looked like factory, even had SS wheels. Wanted 18K, saw it at Goodguys last year.
