Can you recommend a bed vendor?
Guys, I removed the sheet metal bed and the wood from my 49 Kansas truck. The sheet metal has alot of cancer so I want to buy the all new sheet metal bed. I already bought the wood from MAR-K and it's awesome.
I want to know if you guys think I should go to MAR-K for the bed too or shop around. Please let me know your thoughts. Pat |

Re: Can you recommend a bed vendor?
All the MAR K stuff I have seen is awesome. Of course I may be a biased okie because I picked mine up in the OKC warehouse...but all the stuff is on display in their showroom, and it makes some of the chinese stuff look bad. I'd definitely buy from them again.

Re: Can you recommend a bed vendor?
Also another biased okie, I originally just ordered a front bed piece online (I forget where China). Then I realized I would have too much time in body work on the bed sides and went to Mar-K. The difference in the quality between the front bed from overseas and the Mar-K bed is ridiculous.

Another vote for Mar-K, I got all my patch panels and a rear cross sill from them, excellent fit and look like the original. Made in US.

Everything fit together great - was a well thought out kit. The tailgate uses straps rather than chains which is a nice feature. Best of luck with this stage of your build! |

Mar-K is what I use for rear lower panel and I am going to buy new front bed panel and roll pan next, fit is top notch quality.

Looks like its MAR-K - I called and they will do both the free freight and 10% off. Thanks for all the advice.

Re: Can you recommend a bed vendor?
Too bad you are so far away, I have a bunch of Mark-K bed parts - brand new - that I bought for a 51, then sold the cab/chassis.
