Accessory Parts
Anybody know where one could find the two items below?
Seat beat hooks seem to be out there I "thought" I saw them in a 50 cars catolog? Also I'm looking for a "fusee and flag case" for the kick panel in my truck I won't put fused in it. Have the flags and reflector kits.

Re: Accessory Parts
Want to part with them?
From my limited memory they seem to have been popular in the 55-59 chevy sedan era. I tried searching for few parts parts places but can't fins them. Someone (about a yr. ago) posted a link maybe Impala Bobs? Hell when you get old and can't remember things errrrr.

Re: Accessory Parts
I don’t know if they’re the same thing or not, but all the 1940’s – 60’s GM cars I grew up in had coat hooks over the rear side windows that looked similar:
http://www.bobsclassicchevy.com/1949...tyle-pair.html http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/...NT_HANGER.html My dad always seemed to have on of those fuse and flag cases. The bracket was silver and the case was red. The case had a pair of hooks that fit into slots on the bracket so you could just lift it off. Last time I saw one was back around 1966. |

Some where amongst all the stuff in our shops I seem to remember some reflectors, now I know where they came from.

Re: Accessory Parts
Those coat hooks are in nearly every GM car made throughout the 60's, so should be a snap to find. They are pretty flimsy though. Stamped from thin steel.

Re: Accessory Parts
That should not be a problem, all the need to hold is the male seat belt. It;s pretty neat that GMC thought of even doing that in the first place. The aircraft style belt I have will nee me to drill a hole in them so I can hook them.
Does anyone make the OEM style belts with the center hole as in the picture?

Re: Accessory Parts
This is the only one I'm aware of. It has the original style buckle and tongue, but the fabric is of modern design. The stuff that was provided in the early sixties was a much more coarse weave.
http://www.cmwauto.com/MainMenu/Inte.../seatbelts.htm Also, back in those days seat belts didn’t have sewn metal fasteners for the floor attachments. The all used the two piece bracket design. You might be able to special order this style if you want to remain as authentic as possible: Last edited by markeb01; 02-12-2012 at 12:18 PM. |

Re: Accessory Parts
Thanks Mark,
I'll order 3 sets and try to pass off the two that I have from the later years to another trucker. Jake
