Top radiator hose?

My '50 3/4 ton has a '59 235 L6 in place. The radiator has a top fitting of 1 1/4 dia and the thermostat housing neck on the 235 has a 1 1/2 dia. Did the earlier 216's and 235's have a 1 1/4 themostat housing neck? How are people handling this difference of size. I am trying to find a reducer sleeve to handle this. Anyone else have any experience on this and part #'s or solutions? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Top radiator hose?

Yes they did. The other way is that parts houses sell flex hoses with one end 1-1/4 and the other 1-1/2. I ran one of those on the 48 for a long time with the 250 in it.

That seller has several. Some off 216's.
