What the heck is this?

'90 3/4 ton Suburban. Rectangular box mounted off the brake booster w/ two weatherpack connectors off the rear.

What the heck is it?

rear only anti lock breaks..i never got tha point of that..

The idea was the rear end of a rwd would skid first so they tried to control it.Some of the earlier body style had a strap to the axle to a brake valve that would cut off the rear brakes if the rear end lifted up high enough.Ford tried the same thing on the early taurus too.

My step dad has been a mechanic since the 70s as a kid i grew up helping him fix stuff and going to the junkyards.I would ask what is that what does it do and he would explain things to me.I'm the kind that don't forget dumb or odd stuff and that falls under both lol.
