69 C30 stake truck with PTO system?? Value?
Found this at a yard.
Anyone know about these systems? Were they factory systems? Has what looks to me to be some sort of PTO hydrollic system? on it. See pics. Is this system rare or desirable? It has a 292 6 cyl engine. Standard trans. I might pull it if it is worth my time and has some good value for resale. Last edited by 70cst; 04-10-2012 at 10:58 PM. |

Re: 69 C30 stake truck with PTO system?? Value?
I have spent some time over on www.stovebolt.com in the "big bolts" area and there are some really knowlegable guys over there when it comes to stuff like this. My understanding is that all of the PTO units were afer market. I took a quick look over there hoping to find some info for you but only came across this one:
http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/...436#Post829436 A lot of the c40, c50, c60 and c70 trucks had PTOs on them to power dump beds. I have no idea of the value, hopefully somone else can chime in with more. -Richard

Re: 69 C30 stake truck with PTO system?? Value?
It seems you want info other than just value on PTOs. Asfar as value goes,it's not a whole lot...$40-$100 for 40+ year old units. As far as the other info you want, these are not factory. As you can see it's not listed on the SPID. PTOs are an "upfit" installed for dump hoists, winches, and wrecker units...mostly. A PTO hydraulic system is more specific for the complete set-up. I'm not sure what they had mounted to the rear.

Re: 69 C30 stake truck with PTO system?? Value?
Thanks for the info guys.
I just hadn't seen one before and thought it might have some value. So a complete system with all the drive shafts, hydraulic unit, cables, drive system on the trans, etc. is only worth $40 bucks? Hmm. Well, definitely not worth my time to pull. I figured someone might want it to parts for their 40 year old systems. Thanks again for the info. |
