Help with identifying a Chevy Truck Bench seat

So I bought this bench seat from a local guy on craigslist to put in my '59 1/2 ton, he sold as being a seat out of a '57 1/2 ton. I took his word on it, bought it, brought it home, tried installing it and what do ya know, it doesn't fit. Both the mounting brackets and physical size were TOO large. Can you guys please help me identify this seat so I can sell it for the right type of truck. I was told it might be for a '60 to '66, can someone confirm that? Thanks
Here are the dimensions:

Front Bracket mounting hole spacing= 50" & 42.5"
Rear Bracket mounting hole spacing= 49" & 44.5"
Bottom seat= 57.5" Long, 22" Deep
Back Rest= 59.5" Long

Here are some pics:

That frame appears identical to the bench seats from our V8 era trucks...a side shot of the seat and the back frame and stop will help.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Excuse my ignorance, when you say V8 era trucks, do you mean 60-66 V8 models? I can get those picks you requested later this afternoon.

Yes, the 1960-66 trucks were referred to as the "V8 era," even though many came with the L6. This model grouping term is similar to the previous generation trucks (1955-59) being referred to as the "Task Force era" trucks. Just for reference, the 1947-55 trucks are referred to as the Advanced Design era trucks.

The "V8 era" was just one authors labeling of the 60-66 design cycle. Yes more and more V8's were installed year after year, but the majority of 60-66 trucks were still 6 cyl. powered during this era. The 67-72 cycle was definately the "V8 era".The 60-66 era should have been labeled the "smooth ride era". Everyone can can up with there own label, but history will show these were the first generation of "modern trucks" built by GM.

Re: Help with identifying a Chevy Truck Bench seat

Geez...technically the first generation of the C/K Series trucks. How's that? More than one person has referred to the first gen C/K Series trucks as the V8 Era.

Yes, that bench seat appears to be from a 1960-66 GM truck.

Re: Help with identifying a Chevy Truck Bench seat

The bench seats were the same for 60-66. I have about 4 of them laying around, some out of V8 trucks, some out of L6 trucks, taken out of a 61, 63, 65, 66 and cannot tell the difference in the frames or tracks. the upholstery is the only difference.

Ive never heard of that, but makes sense. Ive heard of the Task Force and AD trucks though. Learn something new every day.

Btw. That is a 64-66 custom comfort seat with the full depth foam.
