picked up a complete front suspension

I just picked up a complete front suspension off of a 79 including the crossmember. Im gonna strip it down and just keep the control arms and splindles and brakes. I wanna throw out everything Im not gonna use when I eventually do the brake swap. I guess really all Im gonna thow out is the cross member. It has the steering components too. Should I keep all of that too, or is that not neccessary? What about the sway bar? Oh by the way I got it for free.

i say keep it all. it will be easier to add power steering if you have all the components there. sway bar will help in handeling. clean it up, paint it and bolt it up.

I dont need the cross member do I? I know it will bolt right up but I dont plan on doing the upgrade right away and I dont want to put it all in the garage if I dont have to. between my original post and not I already disassembled it all.

You may notice the lower control arm U-bolts are a different size
Just make sure it's all going to go together before you toss stuff

I would keep everything until you do the swap in case you then find that you need something. If you are certain you don't need the crossmember, before you toss it, you might see if any local members might have a use for it.
