Question kickdown cable question| 350 trans|shift kit|

tsup fellas. Its me again. first off i wanna thank all of you fine helpful gentlemen; because you have supported me as a noob entering the v8 and truck scene. I've worked out every issue I've had by this forum.

Question.
I have a 350 motor/trans combo. It has a shift kit installed. The kick down cable is just hanging there. But i want to hook it up so when i open trhotle it will down shift, because at the moment it does not down shift when in motion, and I'd love the ability to pass someone that just cut me off .

cliffs:

*can i hook up the kick down cable with a 350 trans that has a shift kit
*will it work properly, as in down shift when i open throttle.
*how exactly do i set it: (do i set it to pull on the kick down in the WOT position? will it still shift up)

thanks in advance for any info.

You can hook it up no issue with a shift kit. I have a trans go shift kit in mine and it snaps the wheels loose when It shifts. Just adjust the cable to kick down at the throttle input you want

Hold to wot and pull kick down cable all the way tight in full length of travel on the kick Dow cable and tighten up. You will feel it from 1/2 throttle to wot.

Btw I have a transgo shift kit. Love it couldn't be happier. Easy to install with the on line video. Spins 2nd and chirps 3rd (; stock vetter. But is smooth and easy on you when driving like a normal person lol

Just shift it yourself into second, that is all the kick down is doing. Forget the cable and just tear those guys up with a litle shifter action

Re: kickdown cable question| 350 trans|shift kit|

The kick down cable on a TH 350 also serves to increase throttle pressure to enable proper upshifts at varying degrees of throttle opening. (keeps from burning up clutches) It should be adjusted so that when the throttle is at wide open, the cable is at the end of its travel.

You have th350 passing cable and a 700r4 throttle valve cable that actuates pressure all mixed up
