long time lurker finally saying HI
Hey all, I found this board about a year ago and been reading on a lot of peoples projects and problems learning from all of you while i searched out a project for myself, so first off, let me say thank you to everyone on this board as most of my knowledge on blazers has come from all of you who post up solutions, project updates, idea's and so on.
was originally looking for a 72 or older blazer/jimmy but everything i found was out of my initial price range for purchasing a "project vehicle", then i found this 73 for 1000 so i just went with it. doesn't show in the pictures, but it actually has all the interior to it but the PO was stripping it all down and was just going to make it into a ohv sand dunes rig for pismo so i'm thinking i saved it from a potentially horrible death. lol. right now i'm just trying to get it road worthy since i have to move it from the house we're renting to buying a house somewhere around sept or october, that's when it'll get the big tear down and build up so don't expect much on progress pics and clean up til then. lol. so far, everything installed is a 361959 454 bb with 3917215 heads np205 th350 12 bolt rear dana 44 front electric fuel pump at 6 psi still need to pick up all the interior parts he has for it, 2 tops, front grill, 2 more sets of tires and wheels, an extra 350 engine, tailgate, and a bunch of misc parts he bought for this thing. after that i'll figure out what i don't need, craigslist it all, and buy what's missing to get it on the road. the worst part i think is that all the original wiring is gone and he has a rigged up a little power panel with auto zone wiring and switches going to everything to get it started. |
