Drum to Disc brakes
I just pulled a front axle off a 71 truck to put on my burb. It has drum brakes and I was wondering if it is possible to convert it to disc brakes or if requires buying a different one? If anyone would have any direction to give me I would appreciate it.

Re: Drum to Disc brakes
I thought the 71's were disc. Sure it is a 71 differential? Can't help you with whether it can be converted to discs. Is it a Dana 44?

Re: Drum to Disc brakes
You'd be better off finding a disc Dana 44 from a '72 up truck.
I researched converting my Dana 44 drum system to disc a while ago, and I couldn't find anyone that made anything worthwhile to me in converting my existing system to disc.
